What is Wind Loading?

There are many different definitions of wind loading or what an uplift wind load is!

An uplift wind load is the upward force of the wind usually from a hurricane or wind storm that would damage horizontal structures or damage roof structures in a home or building and can do damage to canopies and awnings as well. Severe weather can cause these winds to flow under a roof structure and then force the roof upwards damaging it! It can also flor over the horizontal structure and pull the roof upwards.

This is something usually for an expert like an engineer to make a determination or to give his opinion based on his extensive knowledge and field experience.
