The short answer to this question is ‘no’. The State of Florida has strict rules that insurance companies must follow before they can cancel your coverage. A company may not cancel your policy simply because you filed a property damage claim. If you have had an insurance policy for more than 90 days, and you have made timely payments, your policy can only be cancelled for very specific reasons. However, it is possible that they may not allow you to renew your policy at the end of your policy term. You may even face receive a non-renewal notice while you are still involved in a dispute with the insurance company. Call a licensed insurance agent to discuss this further.
Keep in mind there are other companies out there that will usually insure you. You may have a premium increase but what is a few hundred dollars a year when you have a $50,000 loss? Saving the few hundred dollars for a few years does not really make sense right?
